We are three architects with busy lives in Milan, London and Berlin and a passion for historic buildings. The Itria Valley, with its rich culinary traditions, its expanses of olive groves and intriguing architecture inspired this renovation project born out of the desire to bring back to life a once-thriving farming ground and transform it into an authentic yet minimalist designed home, a serene place to escape to for a chance to slow down and recharge. This place does exactly that, it distracts you and makes you relax and engage in nature and local culture. Trulli maa is intended for spending time together with friends and family and we are happy to share it with you, your friends and family.
Come enjoy our secluded and renovated country house composed of two 'lamie' (typical structures with barrel roofs), three trulli (traditional stone buildings with conical roofs) and a private swimming pool. We are located only five km south of the charming town of Ceglie Messapica and we will happily share our knowledge and favourite spots to ensure your stay is all you want it to be and hopefully full of discoveries...and if you are wondering...
...the name MAA resonated for its familiarity with the word 'mamma' or 'ma'' and for its meaning of 'land', 'earth' in Proto Finnic languages and seemed fitting for this bountiful land.
